The Navy Yard, Dells of the Wisconsin River
Additional Details:
| The Navy Yard resembles a fleet of boats at anchor, their prows projecting into the stream. These huge stone vessels have withstood the wearing of the water for ages, and have become more complete and shapely by time. They are bold guardians of the Narpes, worthy of the Indian legend that these are part of Cortez's fleet which came exploring in the waters, and that the Spaniards, the Indians cruelly, angered their gods by his wrath, laid his hand upon the ships and turned them into stone. |
