Additional Details:
The Canyon is 50 miles long, extending from Ansonia, Pa. on U. S. Route 6 to Jersey Shore on the Susquehanna River. It is from 1 to 1½ miles wide and from 1000 to 1400 feet deep. Pine Creek, famous trout stream, traversing the length of the Canyon, was, in early days, the main water route of the Indians from the Susquehanna River to the Ohio River and the western part of the United States. Additionally the Canyon was then the home of the Panther, both black and red, and the huge Elk. The Canyon was originally the boundary between the Indian Nations and the early white settlers. Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon is the Creator's Masterpiece in the Keystone State.
