| This Japanese two-man submarine exhibited at the Admiral Nimitz Museum was supposed to torpedo American ships in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. A defective compass made it run aground. Its captain was captured, the first prisoner of war in the Pacific. He was the only survivor of the five submarines launched that day. |
