| OLD FORT HOWARD HOSPITAL BUILDING. Built 1816-17 within a year after the landing on the west bank of Fox river of United States troops, in August 1816. In this house the distinguished army surgeon, Dr. William Beaumont lived with his family, when stationed at Fort Howard, 1826-1828. The building in the rear is the ward room of the hospital. |
