| This superb natural arch of red sandstone spans Bridge Canyon in Utah, and rises 309 feet from the bed of the stream below. Its width on top is from 33 to 42 feet. According to Navajo mythology, a rainbow was here turned into stone, thus permitting certain hero gods to escape flood waters in the canyon. |
