| The Call Building, Third and Market, is San Francisco's tallest at 18 stories. The fire in the dome has just begun. Flames entered the building through a tunnel of a nearby power house, then roared up through the elevator shaft with explosive force. The Call's neighbors, (left to right) the Palace Hotel, Monadnock Building and Hearst Building will meet a similar fate within hours. |
