Situated on the south bank of the river Lee. Dedicated to St. Fin Barre who founded the See of Cork, c. 606 A.D. Church buildings have occupied the site for thirteen centuries. The present Cathedral is the work of William Burges and was erected 1865-70. It is built in French early pointed Gothic style.
