Approach to Gap of Dunloe, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland
Additional Details:
| The famous Gap of Dunloe is a narrow valley or defile, 4 miles long, through the rugged grandeur of Kerry's most imposing mountain range, MacGilli-cuddy's Reeks. Motor cars are not allowed through the Gap, and its severe splendour can best be viewed on horseback or from the comfort of a horse-drawn trap, hired at Kate Kearney's Cottage, a delightful tavern at the entrance to the Gap called after a celebrated local beauty of the early 19th century. |
