| Located on Grout Bay, at the entrance to Holcomb Valley, in San Bernardino National Forest, Fawnskin is the principal resort area on the north shore of Big Bear lake. The area derived its name from the fact that a party of hunters once stretched deer skins on the trees and allowed them to remain for years. Fawnskin is a resort that has remained pretty much in its natural state down through the years. Fawnskin Post Office was established in 1919. |
