New Mexico State Capitol, Santa Fe
Additional Details:
| Completed and dedicated in December 1966, this new $5.2 million structure is probably the most unusual capitol building in the United States. Its circular shape has four entrances set to project the Zia Indian symbol of the sun. The elegant interior boasts fan-shaped legislative halls which open onto a 60-foot high rotunda. It was designed to retain some of the Spanish colonial and Indian heritage of New Mexico. |
