| Louisville — Home of Zachary Taylor. Zachary Taylor, twelfth President of the United States, was born in Orange Co., Va., on Sept. 24th, 1784. In 1816, he married Margaret Smith. Taylor looked forward to living a private life upon the conclusion of his term of office, but he died very suddenly in the White House on July 9th, 1850. His wife survived him two years. |
