| "Sagamore Hill"—Home of Theodore Roosevelt, twenty-fifth President of the United States, was born in New York City on Oct. 27th, 1858, and was graduated from Harvard University in 1880. He was twice married, first to Alice Lee in 1884, and in 1886, to Edith Kermit Carow. Their home is "Sagamore Hill," which commands a view of Long Island Sound and the Connecticut shore beyond, the estate embracing about 100 acres. The interior of the house is adorned with many souvenirs and trophies of Roosevelt's skill in hunting. |
