Additional Details:
| Many of the great wheat farms are made up largely of reclaimed land which is very soft, yet, heavy traction engines are employed for plowing and harvesting. This giant tractor, manufactured by Holt Mfg Co of Stockton, CA, and patented Jan. 10, 1893 and June 6, 1899, is fitted with very wide wheels to prevent sinking. The main wheels are 9 feet in diameter and from 7 to 16 feet wide. A barrel is placed before the steering wheel to prevent its sinking into the soft ground. |
