SELDOM SEEN SLIM, the last of the single-blanket-and-a-burro prospectors of Death Valley and the Panamints, died at the estimated age of 86 in August 1968 and was buried at Boot Hill in Ballarat. The old prospector, whose name was Charles Ferge, was the lone resident for many long periods in the ghost town of Ballarat.
