| The Chattahoochee River provides the City of Atlanta with an abundant supply of freestone water, flowing down from the Blue Ridge Mountains. The City uses more than 18 000 000 gallons of water daily. It is proposed to make the Chattahoochee River navigable, thus giving Atlanta an outlet to the sea through the Gulf of Mexico.
