This is one of the many wonders in the underground Fairyland in NEW MEXICO, which brings many "Ohs" and "Ahs" as you pass nearby on winding paved trails. There are thousands of Stalactites above this formation, ranging from the size of a pencil upwards. The orange coloring on these formations is caused by iron oxide stain. The temperature in the Caverns is 56° summer and winter. The Caverns are open the year round.
