| Located on the Pacific Coast five miles south of San Clemente, this station went into commercial operation January, 1968, has a generating capacity of 450,000 kilowatts — enough power to supply a city of more than half-million population. The plant was built by two investor-owned utilities, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric. The two companies share costs and output of the station —Edison, 80%, and San Diego Gas & Electric, 20%. |
