Additional Details:
The Oryx gazelles shown here are approaching a water hole. They are closely related to the gemsbok but smaller. A water hole is a focal point of interest for many species of animals that need to drink. In many parts of Africa the small streams fall in the dry season, and the only available moisture occurs in places where the geological formation brings water into the holes by seepage.
