The largest meteorite found in the United States and fourth largest in the world. It was found in 1902, south of Portland, Oregon. As this conical body of approximately fifteen tons lay nose down in the moist forest, the exposed upper surface was severely oxidized and great cavities formed. The original mass must have been twenty or twenty-five tons.
