| The Shrine is located on the north-western slope of Mount Royal. Internationally renowned, it is a living monument to the kindly old man whose shining faith made it possible and who is to-day remembered the world over as the “Miracle Man of Montreal”. Pilgrims by the thousands from all over the continent annually make the trek to Brother André’s Shrine. Their grateful donations have built a magnificent structure, built into a niche carved out of the side of Mount Royal. The base of the building rests on a terrace 100 feet above the street level and is reached by a broad flight of stairs. The whole western plain of Montreal Island to Lake St. Louis can be seen from the site. |
