Summit of Little Round Top, Gettysburg, PA
Additional Details:
| The Summit of Little Round Top commanded the country to the west for artillery purposes and although the guns of Hazlet's battery were worked to the summit it was a difficult task, there being no roads on the hill at that time. Once in position they rendered effective service. The heroic bronze statue on the rock presents Gen. Warren, Chief Engineer of the Union Army, in the position in which he discovered the Confederate flank movement on the 2d, and by promptly ordering troops to this position effectively frustrated their efforts. |
