Two Javelinas (Peccaries) in Desert Scrubland

| Found from Texas west to southern Arizona. A small wild pig about 3 feet long, 15 inches high at the shoulder, salt-and-pepper gray coloration due to black and white banding of harsh stiff bristles. Desert-dwelling javelina are, on the whole, timid and quite harmless unless cornered. |
