| Ayr is a convenient centre for the Burns country and has many associations with the great Scots poet, who was born in nearby Alloway on January 25th, 1759. Seen here is the old thatched "Tam O'Shanter" Inn and it was here that "Tam" departed for his celebrated journey by the "Auld Brig O'Doon". The Inn is now a museum of Burns' relics. |
