| The Palace stands at the West end of the Mall between St. James's Park and a well-wooded private garden. It was built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham. Purchased by George III, 1762, it was altered and remodelled in 1825. In 1913 the entire East facade was replaced by a more dignified design by Sir Aston Webb. King Edward VII was born here in 1841. |
