Victoria Pier constitutes a basin at the foot of St. Mary's current in the St. Lawrence River and forms part of Montreal's Ocean-going Harbour. Victoria Pier includes the docks for the luxurious Canada Steamship Lines' St. Lawrence cruise boats. The port's facilities include:—a water area of 12,000 acres, over ten miles of high-level concrete piers and wharves, the Harbour Terminal Railroad with sixty miles of track of which 40 are electrified, modern transit freight sheds with a total floor area of 2,000,063 square feet, four grain elevators with a combined storage capacity of 15,162,000 bushels, a 75-ton floating crane and nine steam-driven locomotive type cranes, a floating drydock accommodating ships of 25,000 tons, a cold storage warehouse with a capacity of 4,628,000 cubic feet, several well-equipped coal unloading plants and a fleet of tugs, dredges, derricks and scows.
