The postcard depicts Abraham Lincoln, standing on a pedestal, handing a document (the Proclamation of Freedom) to a kneeling enslaved man whose shackles are broken. An eagle perches atop a shield with "LIBERTY" on the left. The scene is set against a backdrop of a sunrise or sunset.
