The front features an illuminated manuscript-style New Year's greeting. A large, ornate red and blue initial 'If' begins the poem. The poem reads: "If next year brings all the gladness That I hope you may receive You will have no time for sadness Nor remember how to grieve". The text is framed by green and purple floral borders. At the bottom, a lit candle with radiating yellow light is centered within a similar floral design. The overall aesthetic is Art Nouveau inspired.
