The text "BIRTHDAY GREETINGS" is written in a stylized font at the top right. Below it, a poetic verse reads: "May your birthday be a wonder-day, A masterpiece, a gem; And may you live to celebrate A hundred more of them." The overall design is in a hand-painted style. The back is a divided back with a 1-cent George Washington stamp, postmarked November 8, 1922, from KANS.
