The front features a young woman with dark, curly hair, wearing a light-colored blouse and a purple dress, holding an open book. She is set against a golden background and framed by an oval wreath of purple flowers, possibly irises. Below her, a New Year's greeting for 1911 is inscribed in decorative script: "On this book of 1911 - It's pages fair and new, May every pleasure life affords, Be written there for you!". The back has a Malden, MA postmark from December 3, 1910, and a handwritten New Year's message.
