1915 Christmas Greeting Card: Stylized Woman with Book and Candles

| An artistic illustration featuring a blonde woman with a blue hat and a small bird perched on it, wearing a vibrant, striped skirt and a white bodice with a yellow patterned apron. She is holding an open book. Flanking her are two stylized candle holders with red berries. The greeting reads: "To you and all your kinfolk A happy Christmas Day! A crowded year of joy and cheer And fun and work and play!" An "ACS" monogram is visible in the lower left. The back is a divided back, postmarked December 24, 1915, from Northfield, MN, and addressed to Mr. Oscar Olson in Zumbrota, Cannon Falls, MN. The message wishes a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Carl. Two figures resembling Santa Claus or winter figures holding small Christmas trees are also depicted on the back. |
