| Canada's first postage stamp, the Three Penny Beaver, was issued on 23 April 1851. Designed by Sir sandford Fleming, the stamp was the world's first to depict an animal in a naturalistic maner. The printers were Messrs. Rawdon, Wright, Hatch and Edson of New York. Canada 82 International Philatelic Youth Exhibition 1982. |
