| Enroute to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon modern paved highways pass for miles through the virgin stretches of Kaibab National Forest. Here the visitor finds dense stands of spruce and fir, as well as open meadows bordered by groves of light-trunked aspens. Deer browse beneath the trees and frequently cross the highway, and occasionally the rare "White Tailed Squirrel" may be seen. |
