Additional Details:
This extinct species of western Europe had the most ponderous antlers of any known deer, some showing a spread of nearly 10 feet. Numerous skeletons have been found in the peat bogs of Ireland; hence the name Irish deer. It lived during Middle Pleistocene times, about 500,000 years ago.
