Additional Details:
Built at Stratford Works to the designs of James Holden in 1895, the engine remained in service until 1959. She came of a large class eminently suited to the long branches and cross-country lines of the Great Eastern. The leading axle has both outside and inside bearings with the outside boxes having one inch play in the horn cheeks. This locomotive is preserved at the National Railway Museum, York.
