English Electric "Deltic" Locomotive IS16
Additional Details:
| The 22 "Deltic" diesel-electric locomotives operate the main East Coast route expresses. Their 3,300 h.p. made them the most powerful diesel locomotives in the world when they were introduced in 1961, and within 14 years each of the locomotives had travelled more than 2 million miles. The prototype locomotive is preserved at the Science Museum in London. |
