This is one of the most remarkable windows in the world; it was painted 1405-1408 by John Thornton of Coventry. Dimensionally the window is comparable with a tennis court—1,680 sq. ft. of glass. The window was entirely re-leaded during the post-war restoration of the Minster Glass. The three rows above the gallery illustrate scenes from Genesis whilst the remaining panels below, except the lower row, depict the Revelation of St. John the Divine.
