In a beautiful setting on the banks of the Avon is the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity where Shakespeare was baptized and buried. In the chancel one can see the monument erected shortly after his death, to which on April 23rd each year representatives of all nations join with literary and artistic personalities in a floral pilgrimage. Close to the poet's grave are those of his wife, his daughter Susanna with her husband, and Thomas Nash, first husband of her daughter.
