Sunset over St. Michaels Mount, Cornwall
Additional Details:
| Off the coast of Normandy is Mont St. Michel with a large Benedictine Abbey—500 yards from the Cornish coast is St. Michael's Mount which once had a chapel, built by Edward the Confessor and under the jurisdiction of the Abbey. The Island can be reached at low tide by foot, otherwise there is a ferry. It is thought that St. Michael's Mount has been associated with Christianity since the 5th century and has been identified by some with the Roman Ictis. |
