| The Mine is located approximately 28 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. It is the largest surface copper mine in North America. At the widest point the mine is approximately 1 and ¾ miles from east to west and 1 mile from north to south. The ore is mined by huge electric shovels with dippers of 10 to 16 ton capacity. Blasting occurs daily in the afternoons. |
