The graceful span of Yaquina Bay Bridge is framed by spruce and coastal pine as a 44-foot Coast Guard motor life boat heads for open sea. Designed by state engineer Conde McCullough, it was completed in 1936 with a span of 3,260 feet, standing 245 feet at its highest point and 138 feet at deck level.
