Additional Details:
The Tralee and Dingle Light Railway operated from 1891 to 1953 and ran from Tralee along the picturesque route to Dingle. Its history is steeped in colourful stories which add to the charm of this delightful narrow gauge railway. Loco number 5, now fully restored, runs between Tralee and the tourist village of Blennerville. Blennerville Windmill was built around 1800 by the then landlord R. Blennerhassett and it operated crushing corn for 100 years. It rapidly deteriorated and fell into ruin but has now been restored and is once again crushing corn. Its majestic splendour now dominates the landscape at Blennerville, gateway to the Dingle Peninsula.
