Farragut in Farragut Square, is by Vinnie Ream Hexie, and the bronze of the heroic figure representing the Admiral standing on the deck of his ship, and the mortars which flank it, were cast from the guns of the Admiral's famous flagship the ""Hartford."" The statue was dedicated in April, 1881 and cost $25,000
