Sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski (1908-1982), born in Boston and self-taught, is shown with his marble 1/300th scale model of the Crazy Horse Mountain Memorial. He was invited by Lakota chiefs to carve the mountain for this non-profit, humanitarian project. The memorial is located in the Black Hills, SD, on U.S. Hiway 16/385 and is open year-round.
