Two of the series of blind arches on the S. wall of the Nave with Roman mosaics of S. Matthias and S. Simon. Above are alto-relievos in terra-cotta by George Tinworth. The mosaics and terra-cottas extend the whole length of the Nave; those on the N. are taken from Old Testament, and those on the S. from New Testament stories; the whole scheme culminating in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of the semi-dome above the Communion Table.
