Below the main lily are several unopened lily buds. The top of the card reads "A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS", and at the bottom, a poem about the day-lily is printed: "DAY-LILY / I ONLY LIVE A SINGLE DAY, / AND NEVER SEE THE NIGHT: / BUT I AM ALWAYS GLAD AND GAY / MY FACE IS ALWAYS BRIGHT!".
