Bono's Restaurant & Deli, in continuous operation since 1936, is a landmark on Foothill Blvd., Old Route 66. The Bono family initially ran a roadside citrus stand. Fontana, established in 1913, was a hub for citrus, grape, and walnut production, and home to Henry Kaiser's Steel Mill. Route 66, certified in 1926 and fully paved by 1936, was decertified in 1985, yet over 80% remains driveable. |
