Additional Details:
The U. S. ARMY'S REDSTONE giant surface-to-surface Missile, armed with an atomic or conventional warhead, will be employed to increase the firepower and extend the range of artillery cannon. It is about 70 feet high and carries a self-contained guidance system which, with its supersonic speed, makes it completely immune to known types of counter measures. After the firing crew closes the switch completing the connection between the missile and the power trailer, the REDSTONE rises slowly from the launcher and then accelerates to several times the speed of sound. As it rises, the controls cause the missile to tilt and head toward the target. The REDSTONE is produced by the Chrysler Corp. This is No. 19 of the new 1959 series of twenty-four cards illustrating and describing a different weapon or piece of equipment in the NABISCO Shredded Wheat 'Defenders of America' series. Each of these cards is a full detailed reproduction of an official United States Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine photograph. One of these official photograph reproductions is packed in each package of NABISCO Shredded Wheat. Get the entire set by eating NABISCO Shredded Wheat regularly and trading with your friends.
