| Named for the wife of Captain Wallace Greeley, donor of the original plant, the hospital was established in 1916. Owned by the city of Ames, it is operated by a board of trustees as a self supporting community general hospital. It has an organized medical staff of Ames physicians in private practice. Over 700 Ames women are members of the hospital auxiliary, active in volunteer service projects for the benefit of patients. |
