| Summit Lake, is located near the center of the park on the Lassen Loop Highway at an elevation of 6,600 feet. There is a fine government camp ground on the lake shore. Several well marked trails lead from here to the back country making it an ideal stopping place for fishermen or nature lovers who desire to hike into the wilderness. Hat Mountain in the background is a small extinct volcano with a crater at the top. |
