The Temple of Buddha, dedicated to the worship of Buddha, was presented to the City of Clearwater by the Japanese Government. It is an exact replica of the Temple of Buddha in Nikko, Japan, 1/3 the size of the original. Erected by the Japanese Government in 1914, it was brought to Clearwater in 1917. The Temple is made of Teakwood and decorated with carvings of dragons, birds, and other symbols, symbolizing peace and friendship between Japan and the United States. |
